Tensions between India and Pakistan remain elevated following the four-day conflict in May 2025, which ended in a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. Trader sentiment on a potential Indian strike reflects the absence of major direct military incidents since then, alongside persistent concerns over cross-border terrorism and the fragile state of bilateral diplomacy. India has maintained a posture of deterrence and limited engagement, including criticism of Pakistan at multilateral forums and ongoing disputes over the Indus Waters Treaty. Recent escalation between Afghanistan and Pakistan in early July 2026 has added regional instability but has not directly involved Indian forces. Analysts continue to cite risks from militant activity as a potential trigger, while both sides have exchanged warnings around anniversaries and border issues without new large-scale clashes. No major scheduled summits or votes are set to immediately alter the trajectory in the near term.

For the purposes of this market, a qualifying "strike" is defined as the use of aerial bombs, drones, or missiles (including cruise or ballistic missiles) launched by Indian military forces that impact Pakistani territory (e.g., if an Indian missile or drone hits a target within Pakistan’s borders, this market will resolve to "Yes").
Missiles or drones that are intercepted before reaching Pakistani territory, as well as surface-to-air missile strikes, will not be sufficient for a "Yes" resolution regardless of whether debris lands on Pakistani soil or causes damage.
Actions such as artillery fire, small arms fire, FPV or ATGM strikes, ground incursions, naval shelling, cyberattacks, or any operation conducted by Indian ground forces will not qualify as a strike under this market.
The resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting.
