Several contenders remain tightly bunched because no single hitter has separated from the pack in a high-volume run environment. James Wood leads with 100 runs through mid-August, driven by elite on-base skills and 30 home runs in a Nationals lineup that ranks among the league's top in scoring. Matt Olson, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Yordan Alvarez sit in the low-to-mid 80s, each benefiting from strong team offenses and consistent playing time. With roughly 50 games remaining, late surges, injuries, or lineup shifts can easily reorder the standings. Trader consensus prices every name below 4 percent, reflecting this broad distribution of realistic paths rather than any clear frontrunner.
