The 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs featured multiple close contests that shaped expectations around buzzer beaters, including a 105-104 Knicks win in Game 2 and a 107-106 victory in Game 4 decided by OG Anunoby’s game-winning shot at the horn. The series concluded with the Knicks prevailing 4-1 after Game 5 on June 13, with Anunoby’s make standing as the lone confirmed buzzer beater across regulation and overtime periods. Tight margins in three of five games, combined with high-stakes playoff execution and defensive intensity typical of Finals matchups, created conditions where late possessions could swing outcomes, though the low overall volume aligns with the historical scarcity of such shots in championship play. Traders monitoring implied probabilities would weigh these verified results against any additional late-game heroics that failed to materialize in the remaining contests.
