The 2026 Big 12 rushing yards race remains tightly bunched in trader consensus because multiple proven backs return or transferred into the conference with comparable workloads and efficiency from 2025. LJ Martin leads returning production after topping the league with 1,305 yards at BYU, while Cameron Dickey, Wayshawn Parker, and Joe Jackson posted strong volume and efficiency marks. Cam Cook arrives from a national-leading 1,659-yard season at Jacksonville State, and Caleb Hawkins brings 1,434 yards from North Texas. Early-season results through Week 2 show no dominant leader yet, with backfields featuring depth at Texas Tech, Utah, and West Virginia plus injury or committee risks keeping outcomes fluid across the 12-team league.
