Trader consensus prices Magnus Carlsen as a strong 64.5% implied probability favorite for the Norway Chess 2026 title, bolstered by his recent classical and freestyle triumphs including the TePe Sigeman, FIDE Freestyle World Championship, and Chess.com Open Playoffs in April, alongside his unchallenged world #1 FIDE rating and strong historical edge in this home super-tournament with Armageddon tiebreaks. Reigning world champion Gukesh Dommaraju sits at 9.5% after a tough 2026 classical stretch with six losses and only three wins, prompting schedule cuts and a fourth-place Menorca Masters finish. Vincent Keymer's tiebreak victory at the Grenke Freestyle Open has propelled him to 10.5% alongside Alireza Firouzja, while Wesley So and Praggnanandhaa trail closely in the youthful field locked in February.
