The 2026 NFL season opens amid significant parity, with trader consensus reflecting multiple teams holding realistic paths to the league's best record through strong rosters, defensive upgrades, and favorable early schedules. Power rankings highlight the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks as early frontrunners after dominant preseason showings and key additions like Myles Garrett, while Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens project for double-digit wins based on established cores and coaching continuity. Week 1 results and win-total models show no team pulling away decisively, as tough divisional matchups in the NFC West and AFC East plus injury risks keep projected win distributions tightly bunched around 10-12 victories. This setup sustains competitive implied probabilities across a wide field rather than consolidating behind one or two squads.
