**Low and stable Swiss inflation, with the policy rate already near its estimated neutral level of zero, anchors the 90% market-implied probability of no change at the SNB’s September 24 monetary policy assessment.** Recent readings place annual inflation between 0.4% and 0.8%, well inside the 0–2% price-stability range, while second-round effects from higher energy prices have remained muted. Bankers’ and economist surveys show near-unanimous expectations for a hold through 2026 and into 2027, consistent with the franc’s real effective exchange rate showing limited net movement and Swiss GDP growth proving resilient without overheating. Although several G7 central banks face hawkish pressure from energy costs, the SNB’s unique inflation dynamics and neutral-rate positioning limit the case for immediate adjustment. Traders will monitor the updated inflation forecast and any comments on franc intervention for signs of a policy shift at the meeting.
