Arman Tsarukyan faces Mauricio Ruffy in the UFC 331 lightweight co-main event on September 19 at Crypto.com Arena, a five-round bout with clear title-shot implications for the winner against champion Justin Gaethje. Tsarukyan returns to Los Angeles after withdrawing from his prior scheduled title fight there, carrying a recent submission win over Dan Hooker and active grappling training that reinforces his elite wrestling edge. Ruffy enters on a two-fight knockout streak over Michael Chandler and Rafael Fiziev following a camp switch to Alexander Volkanovski’s team in Australia, where he sharpened defensive grappling against his primary weakness. Broadcast commentary from Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and Daniel Cormier will likely highlight these stylistic contrasts, Tsarukyan’s contender status, and Ruffy’s power threat in what shapes as a high-pressure matchup for both.
