Rebeka Masarova brings stronger recent clay-court momentum into this French Open qualifying opener against Maria Lourdes Carle, highlighted by her three-set victories over Leylah Fernandez and Oksana Selekhmeteva during the Italian Open run that lifted her ranking inside the top 140. Carle, ranked outside the top 200, enters with inconsistent results this season and a pair of straight-sets losses on the surface in recent weeks. The head-to-head favors Carle 2-0 from prior clay encounters, yet Masarova’s height advantage and improved second-serve reliability could neutralize Carle’s return aggression on the slower Roland Garros courts. Both players seek a main-draw berth, with the match likely hinging on baseline consistency and first-serve percentage in what shapes up as a competitive qualifier.
