Arthur Rinderknech, the 23rd seed, faces unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round of the 2026 National Bank Open on outdoor hard courts in Montreal. Rinderknech holds a 2-1 head-to-head edge, including his most recent two victories, but has posted just three hard-court wins in 2026 amid a 14-17 overall record. Kecmanovic arrives after a resilient three-set first-round win over qualifier Michael Zheng and carries a 12-19 seasonal mark with recent clay success in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel. The matchup favors extended rallies on a surface where both players have shown inconsistency this season, with Rinderknech seeking to reset his hard-court results while Kecmanovic aims to build momentum from his gritty opening match.
