Brandon Nakashima enters this second-round National Bank Open matchup in Montreal as the clear favorite against Daniel Altmaier on outdoor hard courts. The American, ranked near No. 30, holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge and posts stronger hard-court win rates this season. Altmaier, ranked around No. 60, faces a tough test after navigating qualifying or early rounds. Both players arrive without reported injury concerns, and the evening Court 5 slot offers standard conditions with minimal travel impact for either. Nakashima’s recent consistency on faster surfaces and higher ranking position him to control rallies, while Altmaier will look to exploit any unforced errors in what shapes up as a competitive but lopsided encounter.
