Barcelona and Real Madrid enter the 2026-27 LaLiga campaign as the clear frontrunners for the top two spots, with the former aiming for a third straight title after winning the prior season and the latter reinforced by José Mourinho’s return alongside stars like Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Bellingham. Their closely matched squad depths, attacking firepower, and head-to-head intensity create substantial uncertainty over which side claims second place behind the likely champion. Atlético Madrid’s established defensive organization and recent European pedigree keep them in contention for a podium finish, while broader preseason models emphasize how early results, key injuries, or late transfer resolutions could reorder the hierarchy among these three. The wide field of lower-probability clubs reflects the established gap to this elite tier.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of LaLiga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of LaLiga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the LaLiga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
