Alibaba leads trader consensus at 66% for best Chinese AI company by end of July, driven by its Qwen model family’s broad adoption, recent May releases of the Zhenwu M890 AI chip and agent-focused cloud infrastructure, plus integration across e-commerce and enterprise tools. Z.ai follows at 21.5% on the strength of its GLM models, cost-efficient performance on coding and agent tasks, and earlier commercial partnerships. Moonshot, StepFun, and DeepSeek trail with competitive open-source releases that have gained developer traction, while ByteDance, Tencent, and Baidu maintain smaller shares tied to platform-scale deployment rather than frontier model leadership. The field remains sensitive to benchmark results, new agentic capabilities, and cloud revenue momentum through July.
