Defending champion Rory McIlroy arrives in strong recent form after contending in PGA Tour playoffs, while two-time past winner Jon Rahm returns with proven links pedigree and recent LIV results. Additional contenders including Shane Lowry, Patrick Reed (Race to Dubai leader), Joaquin Niemann, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton, and the Højgaard brothers bring major championship experience, Ryder Cup credentials, and strong current form. A new course with no established history, combined with the demands of links golf emphasizing accuracy, short-game proficiency, and adaptability to variable conditions, sustains broad trader consensus on an open outcome with realistic chances for multiple players.
