The 22-player field, expanded with a new play-in stage feeding into group and knockout rounds, features a deep roster including Alireza Firouzja, Hikaru Nakamura, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, and rising talents like Denis Lazavik and Arjun Erigaisi. These players cluster tightly around 24-26% odds due to strong recent circuit performances, head-to-head records against top competition, and the high variance of short time controls where upsets remain common. Carlsen's edge stems from experience and team support, yet the balanced participant list and single-elimination elements sustain competitive pricing across the field.
