Mike Evans enters the 2026 season with the San Francisco 49ers after signing a three-year deal following 12 years and 11 straight 1,000-yard campaigns with the Buccaneers. The 33-year-old wideout missed most of 2025 with a broken collarbone and hamstring issues, finishing with just 30 receptions in eight games. Recent training camp setbacks, including a quad strain and groin concern, have raised durability flags ahead of Week 1 against the Rams, though he has returned to practice. In Kyle Shanahan’s pass-friendly scheme with Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey, Evans projects as a primary target amid injuries to George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall, but target volume and availability will determine whether he approaches historical reception totals or faces a reduced role due to age and shared opportunities.
