The Missouri Congressional Map Referendum, certified for the November 3, 2026 ballot following a unanimous state Supreme Court ruling on September 3, asks voters to approve or reject House Bill 1, the 2025 mid-decade redistricting plan enacted in special session. A "yes" vote would uphold the new boundaries drawn to favor Republicans in the Kansas City area; a "no" vote would repeal the plan and retain the 2022 map. Recent certification by the secretary of state and denial of emergency relief by the U.S. Supreme Court cleared procedural hurdles, yet trader consensus at 61% for rejection reflects the measure's partisan origins, successful signature-gathering campaign exceeding 300,000 names, and historical patterns of Missouri voters scrutinizing legislative maps through direct democracy. Upcoming general election turnout and any late legal shifts remain key variables.
