The Toronto Blue Jays enter this weekend series at Comerica Park on a five-game road skid after Friday’s 3-2 loss, where Spencer Torkelson’s two-out ninth-inning single snapped Detroit’s three-game losing streak. The Tigers hold a 13-6 home mark and will turn to Casey Mize in his first start since late April, while Toronto counters with Mason Fluharty making just his second career appearance. Both clubs sit near .440 winning percentage, with the Blue Jays’ bullpen and offense showing inconsistency on the road and the Tigers benefiting from Comerica’s dimensions and recent home success. Gleyber Torres trends toward a rehab assignment for Detroit, while José Berríos’ elbow situation adds uncertainty to Toronto’s rotation depth.
