The 6-player classical format with Armageddon tiebreaks in Oslo favors his experience and home-soil edge over a talented group of younger grandmasters. Vincent Keymer makes his debut after solid Grand Chess Tour showings, while Alireza Firouzja, world champion Gukesh Dommaraju, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, and Wesley So bring recent form from the Superbet Chess Classic but trail in implied market probabilities due to Carlsen’s consistent edge in high-stakes matchups.
