Molly Gray holds an 83% implied probability in the Vermont lieutenant governor race as the Democratic nominee and former officeholder (2021–2023), facing one-term Republican incumbent John Rodgers at 17.5%. Gray secured the nomination in the August 11 primary with roughly 61% against Ryan McLaren and Esther Charlestin. Pre-primary polling showed her ahead of Rodgers in the general election, consistent with Vermont’s Democratic lean at the federal and legislative levels despite Republican success in recent statewide contests. Rodgers won the Republican primary unopposed and was elected in 2024 via legislative vote after falling short of a majority. With the November 3 general election approaching and limited major developments since the primaries, trader consensus reflects Gray’s name recognition, primary performance, and the state’s partisan baseline as the dominant factors.
