Mia Ristic enters this WTA 125 Brescia first-round clay-court match as the higher-ranked player (No. 272) against local veteran Deborah Chiesa (No. 389), with recent results underscoring Ristic’s stronger current form on the surface. The 20-year-old Serbian has posted straight-set wins in lead-up events including Zagreb and advanced comfortably through early Brescia rounds, while the 30-year-old Italian Chiesa reached the main draw via qualifying victories over Bagaric and Kazionova. No prior head-to-head exists, so ranking differential, age-related athletic edge, and clay-court consistency shape trader consensus around Ristic’s implied probability. Home-crowd support and Chiesa’s experience remain the primary variables that could produce an upset in the opening round.
