The closely bunched implied probabilities in the 45–50% range for Celtic, Heart of Midlothian, Rangers, Aberdeen, Falkirk and several others reflect traders viewing the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership as unusually open after last season’s final-day decider between Celtic and Hearts. Early results this campaign, including Rangers’ recent Old Firm win and Hearts’ mixed form, have kept multiple sides within striking distance on the table while heavy summer recruitment at Hearts, Aberdeen and promoted Falkirk has narrowed perceived gaps in squad depth. With the campaign still in its opening weeks and no team establishing clear separation, the wisdom of crowds prices the title race as competitive rather than a foregone conclusion for the defending champions.
