Recent chart trajectories show Stella Lefty’s “Boston” and Morgan Wallen’s “Been By Now” as the primary drivers of trader consensus for the Billboard Hot 100 #2 spot on the August 29 chart, with implied probabilities clustered near 45% and 42% amid tight competition from Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” and newer entries. Lefty’s viral pop-country breakout has sustained strong streaming gains and radio momentum after climbing into the top five, while Wallen’s July 24 release benefits from consistent consumption patterns typical of his catalog. Grande’s dual tracks add pop crossover pressure, but country dominance—led by Ella Langley’s prolonged #1 run—shapes the competitive landscape. Final streaming and airplay updates through midweek will likely determine any late shifts before the chart locks.
