Patrick Mahomes anchors the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback depth chart heading into 2026 training camp after recovering from December 2025 ACL and LCL surgery. Recent updates confirm he has been cleared for full participation, with coach Andy Reid targeting a Week 1 start against the Broncos on Monday Night Football. A June contract extension through 2033 worth over $500 million underscores the franchise's long-term commitment. Backup options including Justin Fields, Gardner Minshew, Chris Oladokun, and Joe Flacco appear on the depth chart or preseason rotations, yet none have displaced the three-time Super Bowl MVP. A late training-camp setback or reinjury during the preseason remains the primary scenario that could shift the implied probability reflected in current trader consensus.

If the Chiefs do not name a single player as the starting quarterback, the market will resolve based on the player who takes the most snaps at quarterback during their first offensive drive of the game. If multiple players take the same number of snaps on the Chiefs’ first offensive drive, the market will resolve to the player who took the first snap at quarterback.
This market may not resolve before the start of the Chiefs’ Week 1 regular season game.
The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the NFL (NFL.com); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
