The 2026–27 Croatian HNL season opened on July 31 with 10 teams contesting a full campaign through May, leaving ample time for defensive records to evolve. Early standings show Dinamo Zagreb conceding the fewest goals while Osijek, Hajduk Split, and Varaždin sit near the top, yet no side has established a decisive edge in clean sheets after just five or six fixtures. Traditional defensive strengths among Dinamo, Hajduk, and Rijeka are offset by Osijek’s solid start and the potential for mid-table sides like Varaždin or Istra 1961 to post strong runs. Gorica’s poor early form highlights how quickly situations can shift. With roster depth, home/away splits, and fixture congestion still to play out, traders see broadly comparable paths for any club to finish with the most shutouts.
