TVB Stuttgart and Bergischer HC enter their 2026/27 Handball-Bundesliga opener as closely matched mid-table sides with similar recent form and historical head-to-head results, including a 25-25 draw last season. Stuttgart holds home advantage at the Porsche-Arena but faces balance challenges from the absence of playmaker Max Häfner due to knee issues, while new signing Philipp Ahouansou's availability remains uncertain. Bergischer, returning to the top flight, brings attacking depth and defensive organization that has kept recent encounters tight. Trader consensus at 50% reflects these offsetting factors, with outcomes likely hinging on early-season execution in attack, goalkeeping efficiency, and how each side manages the physical demands of the opening fixture.
