The rematch in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District between Democratic nominee Christina Bohannan and Republican incumbent Mariannette Miller-Meeks remains one of the most competitive House races heading into November 2026. Bohannan’s narrow 2024 loss by fewer than 800 votes established the seat as a prime Democratic target, and recent polling—such as a July 2026 survey showing her ahead 40-35 percent—has reinforced that positioning. Both candidates cleared their June primaries comfortably, clearing the path for a general-election contest rated a toss-up by forecasters. National midterm dynamics favoring the party out of power, combined with the district’s modest Republican lean and Bohannan’s name recognition from prior campaigns, underpin the current trader consensus reflected in the Polymarket prices. Upcoming developments such as additional polling or campaign finance reports could shift probabilities before Election Day.
