The Chicago White Sox enter the August 30 series finale at Target Field with strong momentum after taking the first two games, extending their AL Central lead to 8.5 games over the Minnesota Twins while posting a 7-3 mark in their last 10 contests. Chicago’s offense features power contributors like Miguel Vargas and has benefited from solid recent starts, though the club carries multiple bullpen and catcher injuries on the IL. The Twins, meanwhile, have dropped four straight and eight of their last 10, including a pair of losses to the White Sox, with their playoff odds fading amid an 8-15 August record and key absences such as Byron Buxton (back, day-to-day) and Joe Ryan. Probable starters Jordan Hicks for Chicago and Zebby Matthews for Minnesota set up a matchup where home-field factors and bullpen depth could influence the outcome in a divisional contest with limited playoff implications for Minnesota.
