Ford secured the Democratic nomination in June with a strong 55% showing in the county primary against local challenger Alexis Hill, while Lombardo dominated the Republican side. Washoe’s suburban and urban voters in the Reno area have trended more Democratic than statewide averages in recent cycles, supporting Ford’s affordability-focused messaging on housing and costs. Recent statewide polls show a close contest overall, with Lombardo holding a modest edge, yet traders price Ford’s county-level advantage based on primary results and the area’s electoral patterns. The general election remains months away with potential for shifts from campaign spending and turnout.
