Recent Spotify US daily and weekly data reveal a tight race for the #2 spot heading into the week ending September 4, with Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings,” Tame Impala’s “Loser,” and Steve Lacy’s “oh yeah?” posting consistent mid-week streaming totals near 6-7.5 million while Ella Langley’s long-dominant “Choosin’ Texas” holds #1. Dolly Parton’s newly vaulted “Jolene” and “9 to 5” generated massive one-day spikes but face sustainability questions against these tracks’ established trajectories and fan engagement. Olivia Rodrigo’s pair of tracks trails further back. Traders are weighing ongoing momentum, viral catalog surges, and typical weekly aggregation patterns rather than single-day anomalies as the key swing factors.
