The Istanbul Challenger pits higher-ranked Andrej Nedic against Sergey Fomin on hard courts, with Nedic holding the edge in career-high ranking at 267 to Fomin’s 290. Fomin enters with strong recent momentum after defeating Nedic in three sets during the Shymkent Challenger semifinals in late April and securing back-to-back wins in Kutaisi ITF events. Nedic has shown solid form in prior clay and hard-court outings but carries a mixed record in high-pressure Challenger draws. Their head-to-head favors Fomin, while factors like Nedic’s youth, serve consistency, and Fomin’s improved return game shape the competitive outlook for this first-round encounter.
