The June 2026 JOLTS release of 7.359 million job openings, falling short of consensus estimates near 7.40 million, has anchored trader sentiment for the July figure around the 7.3–7.5 million range amid a cooling labor-demand trend. May’s 7.594 million print marked a two-year high before the sequential decline, with weakness concentrated in healthcare and leisure while transportation and federal government showed gains. Market-implied odds reflect this base-rate continuity, tempered by stable hires near 5.35 million and unchanged layoffs, alongside broader indicators such as the unemployment rate holding near 4.2 percent. The September 1 release will incorporate any seasonal adjustments and revisions, with traders monitoring for further moderation consistent with recent softening in job postings.

This market will resolve to the bracket containing the seasonally adjusted total number of job openings for the total nonfarm sector in July 2026, as reported in the monthly JOLTS report published by the BLS.
The resolution source for this market will be the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report released for July 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/jlt/), currently scheduled to be released on September 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data.
Note: the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly JOLTS report, which reports job openings in thousands of openings. If the information is not released by that time, this market will resolve according to the figures of the most recent previous month with available data.
