Republican nominee Kurt Alme maintains a commanding lead in the 2026 Montana Senate race, reflected in the market's 92.5% implied probability for a Republican victory. Incumbent Steve Daines withdrew near the filing deadline and endorsed Alme, who secured the nomination with 76% in the June primary after receiving former President Trump's backing. Recent polls from June through early August consistently show Alme ahead by 12–22 points in a four-way field that includes Democrat Alani Bankhead and independent Seth Bodnar, backed by former Senator Jon Tester. Montana's consistent Republican voting patterns in Senate contests, combined with vote-splitting among non-Republican candidates, underpin trader consensus. Potential shifts could arise from late consolidation of the opposition, major scandals, or unusually high turnout favoring challengers.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
