Jiri Lehecka faces rising Spanish teenager Rafael Jodar in the Montreal round of 16 on outdoor hard courts, their first meeting. Jodar, ranked as high as No. 15 after a strong 2026 campaign that includes a Citi Open final and a straight-sets upset of Lorenzo Musetti, brings aggressive baseline play and recent momentum on the surface. Lehecka, sitting at No. 12 with a 23-14 record, advanced comfortably past Alexander Blockx but faces a younger opponent showing greater confidence in big moments. Both players favor dictating rallies from the back of the court, setting up potential extended exchanges where Jodar’s current form and hard-court adaptation could influence outcomes.
