Alexander Zverev captured the 2026 US Open men's singles crown by defeating Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6(7-2), 5-7, 6-2 in the September 13 final on hard courts at Flushing Meadows, securing his second major title of the year after the French Open. The top seed navigated a challenging draw that included early five-set survival against Lorenzo Sonego and straight-set dominance from the third round onward, capitalizing on the absence of several top contenders and strong serving plus consistent baseline play. Casper Ruud's pre-tournament withdrawal due to a back injury removed another potential factor from consideration. With the event concluded, trader consensus at near-certainty for Zverev aligns with the verified result; only an unprecedented reversal of the official outcome could shift the implied probability.
