Henri Squire and David Jorda Sanchis meet in US Open qualifying round one on outdoor hard courts, a matchup between two players ranked in the low 200s with no prior head-to-head record. Squire, the 25-year-old German with a career-high ranking of 169, has shown flashes of form in recent Challengers despite a mixed clay-court record this summer. Jorda Sanchis, the 32-year-old Spaniard ranked slightly higher at around 192, brings greater experience and a stronger 2026 win rate but has posted several early losses in July events. Surface transition, serving consistency, and break-point conversion under New York conditions figure as primary variables, with both relying on Challenger-level results to build momentum toward potential main-draw qualification.
