Caroline Elliott holds a commanding lead in the Conservative Party of British Columbia leadership contest, driven by early polling among the expanded 42,000-member base and a series of high-profile endorsements following candidate withdrawals. Recent debates have highlighted divisions over repeal of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act and economic priorities, with Elliott positioning herself as the strongest challenger to the NDP government ahead of the next provincial election. Voting by party members begins May 23 under a weighted electoral district system, with the winner to be announced at the May 30 convention. Kerry-Lynne Findlay and Yuri Fulmer remain distant contenders, while the remaining candidates trail with limited momentum in the final weeks of the race.
