Hyeon Chung holds a clear edge over Ryuki Matsuda in the M25 Urayasu hard-court opener, backed by a 2-0 head-to-head record that includes straight-sets and three-set victories on similar surfaces. The former top-20 player, currently ranked near 570, brings superior experience and a stronger 2026 hard-court record compared to Matsuda’s lower ranking around 800 and more limited results at this level. Recent form shows both players splitting matches in preceding M25 events in Taipei, yet Chung’s higher ceiling and proven ability to close out tight contests against the Japanese player shape market consensus around his stronger implied probability in the best-of-three format.
