The 2026 Big Ten passing touchdowns race remains tightly bunched early in the season because the conference features unusual depth at quarterback, with multiple returning starters and transfers operating in pass-friendly schemes. Julian Sayin at Ohio State, Dante Moore at Oregon, Jayden Maiava at USC, Demond Williams Jr. at Washington, and Josh Hoover at Indiana all enter with proven volume and efficiency from prior campaigns, while Anthony Colandrea’s recent four-touchdown outing for Nebraska and consistent production from players such as Bryce Underwood, Aidan Chiles, and Rocco Becht keep additional contenders in play. Nico Iamaleava’s early struggles at UCLA further illustrate how quickly individual output can fluctuate. Offensive line strength, receiver talent, schedule difficulty, and red-zone usage will continue to shape weekly totals, leaving the leader position highly sensitive to momentum shifts across an 18-team league.
