Lukáš Hájek leads the market as the Starostové pro Liberecký kraj candidate for the October 9-10, 2026 Czech municipal elections, benefiting from the party's seven-plus years in city leadership and its independent run this cycle after prior alliances ended. Recent steps include Hájek's June selection as list leader, formal candidate filing in late July, and the first mayoral debate on September 3, which highlight organized preparation. A fragmented field of contenders from ODS, TOP 09-linked groups, Piráti alliances, and smaller lists increases uncertainty over post-election council coalitions that will select the mayor, keeping implied probabilities tight across multiple names. Trader positioning reflects the incumbent advantage alongside the need for negotiated support in the new council.
