Arsenal enter the 2026-27 Premier League as defending champions with the strongest continuity under Mikel Arteta, bolstered by elite defensive structure, midfield depth, and a proven title-winning core after claiming the 2025-26 crown on 85 points. Manchester City face transition under new manager Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure, though Erling Haaland and squad quality keep them firmly in contention. Liverpool and Chelsea operate under fresh leadership from Andoni Iraola and Xabi Alonso respectively, with Liverpool seeking rebound from fifth place and Chelsea leveraging transfer investment without European distractions. Manchester United aim to build on third-place form amid their own rebuild, while Aston Villa and others face challenges from squad turnover and fixture congestion. Early-season results and the September transfer window deadline will shape the competitive top-four race among these sides.
