SpaceX has made steady progress toward Starship reusability, with multiple successful Super Heavy booster catches via the Mechazilla tower arms and plans for the first booster reflight late in 2026. However, the upper-stage Ship still faces major hurdles, including its first orbital flight attempt on September 22, repeated heat-shield performance under orbital reentry conditions, precise landing or tower capture, and a completed reuse cycle for both stages. Recent Flight 13 results advanced satellite deployment and intact Ship recovery with tile reuse testing, yet analysts note that full rapid reusability—encompassing regulatory approvals for higher flight rates—remains unlikely before year-end given the compressed timeline and unproven Ship turnaround. Key near-term catalysts include outcomes from Flight 14 and any Ship catch attempts.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if SpaceX or Elon Musk announces that Starship is fully reusable by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Note, this market refers to the Starship upper stage and does not require reusability for the Super-Heavy booster.
For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is not necessary that an actual reuse occur, only that SpaceX or Elon Musk announces that Starship is fully reusable by this market's resolution date.
The resolution source for this market is announcements by Elon Musk and SpaceX, or their official representatives.
