Andrew Johnson, a 16-year-old American ranked near No. 862 on the ATP list, faces 22-year-old Timofey Stepanov, ranked around No. 1596, in the round of 16 at the ITF M15 Los Angeles on outdoor hard courts. Johnson’s higher ranking and recent ATP-level exposure give him the edge in this low-level pro event, while Stepanov brings college experience from Cal and recent ITF qualifying wins. The hard surface suits both players’ styles, with limited head-to-head history available. Local support and Johnson’s youth could factor into momentum on match day.
