The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, FIDE (https://chessolympiad2026.fide.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Multiple elite national teams with comparable average ratings and recent roster announcements keep the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad Open title race tightly contested ahead of the September 15–28 event in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.** India enters as defending champions with a near-intact core from its 2024 Budapest gold-medal squad, while the United States fields a deep lineup featuring Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Levon Aronian, Hans Niemann, and Awonder Liang. Host Uzbekistan benefits from home support and strong performers such as Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov, and China maintains consistent depth with players including Wei Yi and Ding Liren. Recent confirmations of squads across these federations, combined with the Swiss-system format over 11 rounds and roughly 200 participating teams, create narrow margins where board order, individual form, and tiebreak scenarios can shift outcomes. This balance of established powerhouses and emerging contenders explains the clustered trader consensus around the leading options.
