Geelong enters the elimination final with strong recent momentum after five straight wins, leading the AFL in forward-half points, inside-50 differential, and intercepts under Chris Scott, though key absences such as Max Holmes and James Worpel test their depth. Carlton’s late-season surge under Josh Fraser—marked by 11 wins and a draw in 14 games, elite defensive transition metrics, and victories over high-caliber sides—creates parity, building on preseason success against the Cats and solid recent form. Both sides feature experienced midfield groups and MCG familiarity, with the even 50% implied probability reflecting balanced strengths in attack versus defense, roster health questions, and the high-stakes finals setting where small edges in contested ball or injury recovery could shift sentiment.
