Melbourne hosts Carlton in the AFL wildcard final at the MCG, where the Demons hold a narrow 52.5% implied probability driven by home-ground familiarity and a stronger regular-season record. Carlton enters with strong momentum from an extended unbeaten run capped by a dominant victory over ladder leaders Fremantle, while key returns for Will Hayward and Nick Haynes bolster their lineup. Melbourne faces potential absences or minutes restrictions around knee concerns for players including Matt Jefferson, adding uncertainty to their forward structure. Both sides feature established midfield depth and contested-ball strength, with the narrow pricing reflecting Carlton’s recent form offsetting the venue advantage and the high-stakes elimination context that rewards execution over the full four quarters.
