Recent FCC filings by SpaceX for up to one million orbital AI satellites, Starcloud for 88,000 units, and Blue Origin for over 50,000 have intensified trader focus on whether any constellation meets the 100-accelerator threshold for a functional data center by late 2027. Starcloud’s November 2025 launch of an H100-equipped prototype that trained an LLM in orbit, combined with Google’s radiation-hardened TPU tests and Project Suncatcher timeline targeting 2027 prototypes, signals accelerating hardware validation. However, full-scale deployment hinges on Starship-scale launch economics, inter-satellite networking, and regulatory clearances, with Aetherflux eyeing a Q1 2027 commercial node as a potential early catalyst.
