Kaylan Bigun holds a significant edge as the top seed and No. 564 ATP-ranked UCLA standout, fresh off a straight-sets win in the prior round and building momentum on hard courts in the M15 Los Angeles draw. Gus Grumet, an 18-year-old ranked near No. 1194, reached the quarterfinals as a lucky loser after strong qualifying performances but lacks comparable recent ITF depth or head-to-head experience against established college-level opponents. The surface and scheduling favor Bigun’s consistency and ranking advantage, though Grumet’s youth and recent form provide limited upset potential in what projects as a lopsided contest.
