Kira Pavlova enters as the higher-ranked player at No. 344 WTA against Matilde Mariani's No. 765, with a stronger 2026 hard-court record of 6-4 compared to Mariani's 13-9 overall on the surface. Both advanced through ITF W35 Monastir qualifiers on May 12, Pavlova dispatching Gaia Squarcialupi 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets, while Mariani overcame Laura Heutschi 2-0. No prior head-to-head exists, but Pavlova's career hard-court edge (119-94 vs. 41-36) and recent form in W75 Calvi and W50 Nantes underscore trader consensus favoring her in this second-round clash on outdoor hard courts. No injury reports or withdrawals noted; weather could influence play.
