Ja'Marr Chase enters the 2026 NFL season as the clear focal point of the Bengals' pass-heavy offense, with projections centering on 165–175 targets and roughly 120 receptions across a full 17-game slate. His 2025 output of 125 catches on 185 targets in 16 games underscores consistent elite volume regardless of quarterback play, and Joe Burrow's health supports continued high usage. A late-August left-knee hyperextension prompted limited practices in early September, but Chase is expected to be available for the Week 1 opener against Tampa Bay with no long-term concerns noted. Historical patterns show Chase has posted at least 100 receptions in four of five seasons when healthy, with the Bengals' scheme continuing to funnel him a league-leading target share near 30 percent. Minor pre-season management and any in-season rest or minor ailments represent the primary variables that could shift his final total.
